The Nordic Transactional Analysis Conference 2026 – Where Physis Finds Light

The Nordic Transactional Analysis Conference 2026 is an online event for transactional analysts, therapists, counsellors, coaches, organizational professionals and anyone interested in deepening the knowledge about Transactional Analysis worldwide. It takes place on November 7–8, 2026, hosted by the Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish TA associations.

The theme “Where Physis Finds Light” explores Eric Berne’s concept of physis – the inner life-giving force that drives growth, change, and healing. In Nordic culture, physis is nurtured through nature, quiet presence, and systems that support wellbeing and equality – values reflected in the Nordic countries’ consistent ranking among the world’s happiest nations, including holding the top position for nine consecutive years. Yet alongside safety and wellbeing, the Nordic story also holds a paradox: many people struggle with loneliness, burnout, and loss of meaning. The theme explores both the conditions for human flourishing and the deeper longing for connection, vitality, and hope in the face of adversity.

Rooted in ancient Greek ideas of nature and organic growth, physis is the vital energy Transactional Analysis seeks to understand and nurture. Nordic life, shaped by long dark winters and endless summer light, dense forests and frozen seas, offers a powerful context for exploring resilience, relational depth, and renewal.

Through keynotes, workshops, and dialogues, we’ll explore how physis can guide more compassionate, sustainable, and connected ways of living and working in the face of global challenges like climate change, inequality, the resurgence of populism, increasing polarization, conflict, war and social fragmentation.

Whether you work in psychotherapy, counselling, coaching, education, or organizational development, or are simply interested in learning more about Transactional Analysis from the perspective of personal growth and selfunderstanding, the Nordic TA Conference 2026 offers a shared space for reflection, learning, and connection – and to discover how Transactional Analysis can support wellbeing, participation, and ecological awareness grounded in the belief that within each person lives a growing force seeking health, connection, and meaning.
